Death of the sacrificial animal is the first thing that takes place in the court of the sanctuary. The word of God says,
Leviticus 3:2, “And he shall lay his hand upon the head of his offering, and kill it at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and Aaron's sons the priests shall sprinkle the blood upon the altar round about.”
Why did God want the sinner to see death every time he sinned and came to the court? God wanted the sinner to know clearly that sin kills; that death is in the bosom of sin, that the “the wages of sin is death” indeed (Romans 6:23). God wanted to remind every child of Adam, the same truth that he told Adam—that sin kills!
