WHY IS IT THAT ONLY HUMAN BEINGS WOULD BE RESURRECTED TO INHERIT THE NEW EARTH, AND NOT THE ANIMALS?
We need to know that all human beings will be resurrected to receive their rewards. Jesus said regarding the resurrection:
And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. (John 5:29)
The lost will be much more in number than the saved people, not because God wants a few, but most people choose the wrong path, in spite of warnings from God. Jesus said:
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. (Matthew 7:13, 14)
The vast majority of people will have to give an account of all the deeds that they have committed in this life, and will pay a dear price in the lake of fire. Only the righteous will enjoy Heaven and the earth made new, forever. Jesus said:
Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth. (Matthew 5:5)
ONE MIGHT SAY: Isn't it unfair for animals not to be resurrected to eternal life?
But I ask-wouldn't it be unfair if God resurrected all animals to eternal life? Think for a moment. Most of the human beings will not be there in Heaven. And if all the animals can make it there, wouldn't it be better to be an animal?
The test of loyalty has to be passed. What test do these animals have? They have no reasoning power to choose their destiny. They have been made for the joy of man. If most of the people-for whom they have been made-will not be there, how can they?
Let us assume that God would resurrect the animals. Should He resurrect all of them or just some of them? If He resurrects just a few of them, wouldn't it be unfair to the rest? If animals were to be resurrected then what about the plants as they too are suffering the pain because of sin! If all the animals and plants were to be resurrected, the New Earth would be so cramped!
Nowhere in the Bible has it been said that Jesus died for the animals, nor about the resurrection of animals.
During Noah's flood, God took only selected animals in pairs.
The rest of them perished along with the wicked people in the flood. It is not that the animals within the ark were better than their companions who were left out. They were taken in to keep their species alive after the flood. They have no moral accountability.
Man has to give an account of his deeds to his Creator. The
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment. (Hebrews 9:27)
Once animals die, they die forever. They have no judgment. But man has a judgment to pass.
It is because of our sins the whole creation of God suffers. Paul wrote:
For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. (Romans 8:22)
It is because of our sins God is suffering the most. It is recorded:
In all their afflictions, he was afflicted. (Isaiah 63:9)
Listen to the heartbeat of God:
My soul shall weep in secret places for your pride; and mine eye shall weep sore, and run down with tears. (Jeremiah 13:17)
So let us not think that God is doing injustice to the innocent animals. How can He save them unconditionally, when man, who is made in His own image, has conditions, and most of them will be lost! If one thinks it is unfairness to the animals, is it fair for God to suffer so much because of our sins? God is the most innocent One!
God will not resurrect the animals and plants that now are, but
He will recreate the same kind of animals and plants, with no defects. Everything will bear the original beauty that was in the
Garden of Eden, and even more glorious!
If you loved a particular pet, won't God know your desire and make one similar for you! It won't be identical to the dot, but you will hardly notice the difference! There are no two things alike in
God's creation; all are unique and distinct.
When God is going to recreate this earth, to its glorious beauty, all that was there in the beginning will be recreated, not resurrected.
Behold I make all things new. (Revelation 21:5)
The same wonderful things that He made in Genesis Chapter 1 will be recreated, whereas only the righteous human beings will be resurrected to inherit the New Earth. What a back to Eden picture that will be! Isaiah saw that scene and recorded it for us. Here it is:
The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea. (Isaiah 11:6-9)
